[FONT=&quot][FONT=&quot]John Chaney, the legendary Temple University basketball coach, the very face of the school on North Broad Street for a generation and an icon of his sport, has passed away at age 89.[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot][FONT=&quot]Chaney had led to Temple to five appearances in the NCAA Elite Eight, the last trip in 2001, the year Chaney was inducted to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. In addition to 17 trips to the NCAA tournament with the Owls, Chaney won a Division II national title at Cheyney University.[/FONT]

RIP coach and this is what I think of first when it comes to Chaney.

That was a classic, a few years later Squid (Calamari) showed the world what a low life scum he is. I haven't liked the man since like 1996, when he tried to throw UConn under the bus to deflect attention away from his UMass program which was about to be sanctioned

Never saw such behavior before or after from a college coach
